...than green smoothies.

i've been into smoothies for a while. for a while i was into putting carrots into my smoothies. they blended well and were just another way to pack in some extra veggies.

it was time to move on. recently i read in Real Simple (my new favorite magazine, since apparently i have the same interests as 35 year old housewives) about how kale is a superfood, filled with beta-carotene, vit C, calcium and antioxidants. now, before this i didn't have any thoughts about kale. didn't really know what it was. but then i read how it's great to go in smoothies. i love smoothies! it goes great in my strawberry mango smoothie. the only downside is that it makes my smoothie green, which makes me feel like a health nut who drinks wheat grass and beet juice.


green strawberry mango smoothie:
frozen strawberries
frozen banana
frozen mango
kefir lowfat strawberry greek yogurt
naked mighty mango juice
fresh mango
a few leaves of blanched and frozen kale
